| Dear Friends, |
We really are as pleased as punch. Over the last few months you guys have really been putting feathers in your caps. You've pulled out all the stops and have passed with flying colours. The proof is in the pudding as we have more and more Spaniards jumping on the Pueblo Ingles bandwagon.
We've heard straight from the horse's mouth that you lot deserve a big thumbs up. You really are the bee's knees. So let's lock and load and then really push the envelope into the winter and 2007! Hopefully, you will have understood the above message but just in case you didn't, here's a brief summary:
Thanks so much everyone – you've done a really, really tremendous job!
This above passage exemplifies some of the strange and wondrous expressions that have turned up in the English language. English's ability to evolve and adapt has been of fundamental importance to its growth and flourishing around the World.
The passage reminds us of the complexity of the English language and the philosophy of the Pueblo Ingles program. It's not only your patience, hard work and commitment that we are grateful for. It's the quirkiness of your unique styles of English and the richness of your individual personalities. It's these things that pump the magic into the Pueblo Ingles program, and that really make such a difference for all our Spanish participants.
So once again, a humungous thanks to all of you. You truly make a difference!”
We invite you to read below to find out what has been going on in the world of P.I recently. |

Hi all! Sandra the TEENTOWN Coordinator here:)
This year 130 teens from all over the world enjoyed another fun-filled summer with us at Pueblo Ingles. We're already receiving applications for next year!! Several teen veterans have already booked their spots and are trying to use their pull to do more than two weeks. I like to keep everyone happy, but we all know how exhausting one week can be, let alone three!
Speaking of our vets, many of those who participated in the first program 3 years ago are starting to get beyond their teen years. Boy, am I starting to feel old!!
In our mission to please both Spaniards and Anglos, we're going to open up two teen venues for next July. READ MORE Open/Close

TEENS CONT'D
So, next summer there are going to be eight teen programs at two different venues in Spain. We thought this would be a great opportunity for schools and/or associations to come as small groups with a chaperone. They could either stay on the teen program with the group or recover from their flight in a more civilised environment on the adult program! If you know anyone who might benefit from this unique opportunity to get community service credits while helping our Spanish teens improve their English, have them get in touch with me Sandra Händler, Teen Program Coordinator.
We are also starting English Immersion programs for the Spanish teens that will run all year around at our cozy little country house in Segovia. If any of you teens out there fancy a mid-semester visit we'd love to have you drop by for a week or a weekend. The first one will be taking place on the weekend of November 3-5 and we'll keep you posted on future dates.
We've now got a new email address just for our teen programs: teens@puebloingles.com . You can contact us here for all your Teen Pueblo Ingles needs.
I look forward to hearing from you. ‘Till our next bulletin, ya'll have fun now ya hear!
What are they saying about their experience?
Anastasia Alden, 14 : “…I had the most amazing time! …I found that everybody was so friendly, and the activities so fun that it was impossible to not like it! I've made so many friends.. and I hope to come back…!
Sierra Treloar-Searing, 17 : “It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life and I will look back on it for years to come”

The P.I team is growing rapidly with several additions lately. Andres is taking care of our IT needs. Graphic designer, Will, came straight out of the our Masters in English course and is now putting his English to the test! In the Anglo Department Cheryl has been joined by Ainee and Luke who are working together to form the groups for each program and provide support to our Anglos. You will meet them at the Welcome Reception on the Thursday before your program and having been Anglos themselves they are armed with all sorts of information. So that you can get to know us a little better, we are starting a new "10 Things You Didn't Know About…." section. This time we chat to Pueblo Ingles originator Mr Juan Carlos Medina . 1. …is the co-founder and general manager of Pueblo Ingles and was the on-site program director in its first two years.
2. …his hobbies include football, padel, fishing, golf and reading but his favourite pastime is being with family.
3. .…says that even though the smallest places can have something very magical about them, ‘The Big Apple' would be his second choice of place to live after his current home, of course!
4. …is the man to thank for Pueblo Ingles beginning at Valdelavilla, the location that has proved to be perfect for our extraordinary program.
5. …works in tandem with his other half and business partner, Sonia Palacios.
6. .…has two boys Juan, aged 14, y Luis who arrived in to the world only four months ago!
7. …loves to turn up the volume on Carlos Santana's song ‘Europa' as the song's flow and progression reminds him of his childhood and life's ups and downs.
8. …says that an ideal day is one where all the Pueblo Ingles programs are full and the office is packed full of people. He's not nuts he says – “it's just the way of the businessman!”
9. …cooks a mean Paella and the neighbours are always straight over when they get a whiff of it!
10. …insists that his moustache has been with him since the day he was born.

If you're a fan of the more creative aspects of the Pueblo Ingles program then why not tune up the right side of your brain by entering one or indeed both of our new Anglo competitions. We've come up with two challenges that we hope create some very entertaining results. From some of your reports you definitely appear to have sufficient material! The winners of each competition will receive a top quality MP3 Player and there will also be prizes in each competition for two runners up. POEM COMPETITION
For this competition we are asking you to write us a short poem (less than 150 words) about your experience at Pueblo Ingles. The style and content is up to you. You may want to summarise the whole experience or you may want to focus on something more specific. Please send entries to anglos@puebloingles.com before the 6th December 06. The winner, a second and a third place will be picked by the Pueblo Ingles team. The winning poem will be published in the next bulletin and prizes will be sent out in the New Year.
CAPTION COMPETITION
Do you think you can take one of your wonderful photos from Pueblo Ingles, and add to it a witty caption to produce a piece of absolute comic genius? If the answer is yes then read on. For this competition you should try to add an extra dimension to an interesting photo by writing a caption that either provides some description or explanation of a scene, or that could be added in a comic book style as the thoughts or diction of people in the photo. You can simply write your caption in an email and attach your photo, then send it to anglos@puebloingles.com before the 6th December 2006. The winner, a second and a third place will be picked by the Pueblo Ingles team. Prizes will be sent out in the New Year.
